Scott Carpenter has been part of the broadcast industry since the age of thirteen when he played drums on a live, country music radio show in his hometown of Flint, Michigan. By age 14 he was performing regularly in clubs, as a replacement drummer for several, national recording acts and as a studio musician in Detroit. While on active duty in the U.S. Air Force, he talked his way into a job as a D.J. at KCJB in Minot, N.D. and he's been talking ever since.
Scott spent 35 years on-the-air in major markets such as Los Angeles,
Washington, DC, New York City, Toronto and Baltimore. Most of those years
have been spent in the Country format. He has also performed as a
country singer and even cut a fairly succesful single, Pistol Packin' Mama
which earned a substantial sum of money for selected Los Angeles charities
in the mid eighties.
Scott is a huge country music fan and enjoys pulling the drums out of their cases from time to time to play the occasional gig.

I began playing Country music on the Radio about thirty years ago. The first radio station I worked at was Country. I was about 18 years old, and I vividly remember playing songs like "Jolene" by Dolly Parton on 45 rpm records, and scared to death to actually talk on the air.

One of the more fun things I enjoy is being Master of Ceremonies at Country concerts. I've had the pleasure of sharing the stage with folks like Toby Keith, Martina McBride, Glen Campbell, Patty Loveless, Brad Paisley, John Anderson, and a lot of the new country singers like Dierks Bentley, Jimmy Wayne, and Jennifer Hanson. Almost without exception, they are the nicest folks you could hope to meet anywhere.
I think people worldwide can relate to country music. From love songs to real life songs...country music tells stories.
